{"id":13698,"date":"2026-01-09T17:34:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T17:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/13698\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T17:34:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T17:34:31","slug":"col-nakalema-rallies-kasese-youth-on-peace-and-securit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/13698\/","title":{"rendered":"Col Nakalema rallies Kasese youth on peace and securit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>__________________________\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0SOUTH RWENZORI DIOCESE YOUTH CONVENTION\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), Col Edith Nakalema Asizua, has implored the youth in Uganda&#8217;s western district of Kasese to preserve the peace and security in the country which the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has ensured for the last 40 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristianity teaches us that true peace isn&#8217;t merely the absence of trouble but wholeness and the right relationship with God. Keep peace and stability in your country starting with your homes,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nakalema made the remarks on Friday (January 9) as the chief guest at the Youth Convention of South Rwenzori Diocese, held at St Paul\u2019s Cathedral in Kasese.<\/p>\n<p>The event ran under the theme: \u201cAnchored in Christ for unity, stability and peace\u201d, and it attracted over 10,000 youths.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/8d3f16b8-2245-4a06-a8df-0789d8a4c2c2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/19b8765d-2f7f-40a8-9250-21c55442c6c0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><br \/>Nakalema also noted that the Christian perspective is that security is found not in wealth, power, or human systems but in belonging to Christ.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJesus assures believers that they are held securely by God and can&#8217;t be separated from His love. Christians find security in being children of God, loved, valued not for achievements but by His grace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/af70ad14-a23e-43a4-ab2c-36fc234d2bde.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Youth are our investors&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The SHIPU boss further encouraged the youth to have faith in God, reminding them of her late father, Rev. Eriasafu Sserwadda, whose faith in Christ made him overcome his challenges and became successful in his endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy father had strong faith in Jesus. He always did what is right and obeyed authority. Me and my siblings are serving the nation because he raised us well and with faith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe taught us to believe in Jesus and always told us that we shall be able to dine with kings and queens. I have served and still serving His Excellency the President and he also visited my father years before he died. His life was never the same after that visit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/fe736640-76ea-4778-8597-4f4b3df13cbf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Nakalema also informed the young believers that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, are aware of their critical contribution to Uganda, the reason they are empowering them through various programmes such as the Presidential Skilling project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I have seen today is amazing, I want to thank you Bishop for this organization. Seeing this big number of the youth here is a big statement. Thank you for mobilising the youth. The youth are our investors. You are great investors and your investments will transform lives in Uganda. You are already mobilised and will work for this nation to make it better,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank His Excellency for prioritizing young people. His Excellency the President and Maama Janet know that I&#8217;m here and everything they do, they are planning for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/2582af47-ace7-4e5b-983a-82ee3e6d2d1e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Obey your leaders&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Drawing her example from Ephesians 6:17 (NIV), which states: \u201cTake the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God\u201d, Nakalema explained that salvation is what will make believers secure, peaceful and give them protection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll you need is to put on the helmet of salvation well. Our Lord Jesus is the way and the truth, the Commander of salvation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also cautioned the youth against the negative effects of the current information age which is consumed through the new technology. \u201cHowever, know how to choose the information which is right for you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/5b864385-fded-4731-8d62-574b69de5e02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/ed4349fc-a031-42aa-a8ce-79adcdeb5c60.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><br \/>Nakalema underscored the importance of personal attributes such as obedience, teamwork, readiness, flexibility and timeliness in shaping someone&#8217;s future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObey your leaders, work as a team and you must be ready all the time; be ready to face your challenges and ensure that you are ready to move forward and be ready to be better all the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe flexible, but be ready to change for the better and always be time-conscious. Lost time never comes back. If you have those five principles, Uganda will move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev.
