{"id":14626,"date":"2026-01-10T06:00:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T06:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/14626\/"},"modified":"2026-01-10T06:00:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T06:00:19","slug":"kenyan-catholic-bishop-cautions-against-denying-others-opportunity-for-blessings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/14626\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenyan Catholic Bishop Cautions against Denying Others Opportunity for Blessings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aciafrica.org\/author\/211\/sabrine-amboka\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                        <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Sabrine Amboka\" class=\"author-image m-0 mr-4\" height=\"48\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768024819_332_sabrine01_1748379247.jpeg\" width=\"48\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n                    <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"post-info\">Homabay, 09 January, 2026 \/ 12:59 pm (ACI Africa).<\/p>\n<p>The Bishop of Kenya\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholic-hierarchy.org\/diocese\/dhoma.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay<\/a> has cautioned those in leadership positions within the Church against denying others the opportunity to receive God\u2019s blessings, calling on them instead to encourage believers, especially those living in poverty, to participate fully in the life of the Church.<\/p>\n<p>In his Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4okoNRIUbLs&amp;t=1612s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 7, homily<\/a>, the Bishop of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholic-hierarchy.org\/diocese\/dhoma.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay<\/a>, Bishop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholic-hierarchy.org\/bishop\/bodiwa.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Otieno Odiwa<\/a>, said that Church leaders should never become a barrier to blessings but should instead help Christians access them, recognizing the key role of Priests in offering blessings to the people of God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChurch Leaders and advisors, do not deny Christians the opportunity for blessings. Encourage them&#8230; Do not be the cause of denying someone a blessing. Go and help them to receive blessings the Priests give,\u201d Bishop Odiwa said during the Holy Mass with the Parish Pastoral Council members from the 48 Parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Homabay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur numbers are our blessing,\u201d the Bishop said, and added, \u201cEach person contributes a little. Little by little, it fills the basket. The Priests are going to bless you today. Take those blessings to our Christians who need God\u2019s blessing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Catholic Bishop reflected on life challenges, acknowledging the journey of life, saying that it is often marked by \u201cwaves\u201d that bring fear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Homabay, 09 January, 2026 \/ 12:59 pm (ACI Africa).
