{"id":14868,"date":"2026-01-10T09:03:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T09:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/14868\/"},"modified":"2026-01-10T09:03:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T09:03:14","slug":"kenyan-among-three-buhimba-players-suspended-over-alleged-match-fixing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/14868\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenyan among three Buhimba players suspended over alleged match-fixing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has provisionally suspended three Buhimba United Saints FC players for 90 days following allegations of match manipulation linked to a Uganda Premier League fixture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nIn a statement issued by the Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, FUFA confirmed that Ayebale Moses, Dudu Ramadhan and Nkata Fred have been suspended \u201cdue to potential involvement in match manipulation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nThe investigation centres on the Lugazi FC vs Buhimba match played on November 8, 2025, which FUFA suspects was \u201cmanipulated for betting purposes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nAccording to the release, \u201cformal proceedings for violating Article 43 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code have begun\u201d, with Article 43 relating specifically to the manipulation of football matches or competitions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nFUFA added that the suspensions were imposed under Section 78 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code to protect the integrity of the competition while investigations continue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cThe Chairperson of the Investigatory Chamber has provisionally suspended the players for 90 days,\u201d FUFA stated, noting that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure pending the outcome of the investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nAmong the suspended players is Fred Nkata, a former Gor Mahia, Tusker FC and Bandari FC left-back, who joined Buhimba United Saints in August 2025 from Congolese side AS Otoho. Nkata was unveiled as an experienced and versatile defender, having also featured for SC Villa and Kira Young FC in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nThe Federation further disclosed that the matter will be escalated beyond football authorities, stating that \u201cthe conduct under investigation may also constitute a violation of the criminal provisions of the National Sports Act\u201d, and that the case \u201cwill be reported to the Uganda Police\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cAll three players have been personally notified of the decision, and the suspensions take immediate effect,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nFUFA emphasised that the investigation remains ongoing and that further action will be taken in accordance with its Ethics and Disciplinary Code once the process is concluded.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nThe match under investigation has attracted additional attention due to regional connections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nThe goal at the centre of the probe was scored by David Bagoole, a former Sofapaka FC striker who previously played in the Kenyan Premier League.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.8;\">&#13;<br \/>\nNkata\u2019s case also carries a notable family angle.
