{"id":16270,"date":"2026-01-11T01:30:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T01:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/16270\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T01:30:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T01:30:10","slug":"government-investors-begin-talks-on-5008-unit-housing-project-for-ghana-armed-forces-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/16270\/","title":{"rendered":"Government, investors begin talks on 5,008-unit housing project for Ghana Armed Forces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/NewsArchive\/Government-investors-begin-talks-on-5-008-unit-housing-project-for-Ghana-Armed-Forces-2016697?gallery=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/97293374.295.jpg\" alt=\"The proposed development is expected to deliver 5,008 two-bedroom and three-bedroom housing units\" title=\"The proposed development is expected to deliver 5,008 two-bedroom and three-bedroom housing units\" width=\"295\" height=\"180\" \/> <\/a>The proposed development is expected to deliver 5,008 two-bedroom and three-bedroom housing units<\/p>\n<p id=\"article-123\">The Government of Ghana has taken steps to address longstanding accommodation deficits within the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) following the arrival of international investors to advance discussions on a large-scale military housing project.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed development is expected to deliver 5,008 two-bedroom and three-bedroom housing units across seven military barracks nationwide, subject to the completion of negotiations and technical arrangements with the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media, Managing Director of Sinoam Fund, Tarek Choufan, confirmed that his outfit has partnered with Eli Ghana Limited to finance the project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/NewsArchive\/Government-set-to-build-2-000-housing-units-for-Ghana-Armed-Forces-CDS-2013671\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Government set to build 2,000 housing units for Ghana Armed Forces &#8211; CDS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have partnered with Eli Ghana to work on a housing project for the Ministry of Defence, and we are very happy to be here to finalise the completion of our agreement and proceed with the investment,\u201d Choufan said.<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that the investors are prepared to inject an initial capital of about 50 million US dollars, with further funding tied to project milestones and phased implementation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re here to make sure the project goes from initialisation to completion and to provide all the necessary capital that\u2019s required,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Choufan, construction is expected to begin within a few months once agreements and roadmaps are finalised. <\/p>\n<p>He noted that while the immediate focus is military housing, the investors are also exploring opportunities in energy infrastructure, logistics and social infrastructure, including education and health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very important to enhance trade logistics here. It aligns with the national development targets of the government,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Representing the Minister of Defence, Brigadier-General Benjamin Amoa-Boateng, Acting Judge Advocate General of the Ghana Armed Forces, described the investors\u2019 visit as a positive step towards resolving accommodation challenges within the military.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy presence here is an indication of the collaboration with the investors, and we are glad that they are in town,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>However, he cautioned that details of the agreement would only be made public after formal discussions are concluded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are now going into the proper discussions.
