The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched an
\nactive manhunt for Timothy Njeru Wanjuki, the director and sole shareholder of
\nEast Africa Motors Limited, over multiple fraud cases involving obtaining money
\nby false pretences.<\/p>\n

In a statement released on Friday,
\nthe DCI said Wanjuki is accused of targeting foreign nationals, including
\nUnited Nations personnel based in Nairobi, by promising to import motor
\nvehicles; promises that were either never fulfilled or only partially honoured
\nafter victims incurred additional costs.<\/p>\n

According to investigators,
\nvictims paid substantial sums of money, running into tens of thousands of US
\ndollars, directly into accounts controlled by the suspect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile some vehicles were
\neventually imported, payments to Japanese suppliers were often incomplete,
\nleading to delays, extra charges, storage fees, and other financial losses for
\nclients,\u201d the DCI said. In several cases, complainants reportedly received no
\nvehicles at all.<\/p>\n

Investigations have also revealed
\nthat East Africa Motors Limited had closed its physical offices and shifted
\noperations online. <\/p>\n

Following DCI action, the company\u2019s website was taken down to
\nprevent further engagements, and its registration has since been cancelled.<\/p>\n

Efforts to trace and arrest
\nWanjuki are ongoing, with the DCI working alongside other investigative units.<\/p>\n

The agency has issued a strong
\nwarning to the public against conducting any business with Wanjuki or any
\nentities associated with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone with a pending complaint,
\nunresolved case, or relevant information related to this suspect is urged to report
\nimmediately to the DCI\u2019s Serious Crime Unit,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n

Members of the public with
\ninformation that could assist in locating and apprehending the suspect have
