(Photo by Juliet Anna Lukwago)<\/p>\n<p>He made the remarks on January 10, 2026, while closing the 19th Ekisaakaate, a nine-day programme held at Hormisdallen School in Gayaza, Wakiso district. A total of 250 children and youth participated in this year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Ekisaakaate sessions ran for 14 days, but the duration was reduced to nine days due to preparations for the country\u2019s forthcoming general elections.<\/p>\n<p>Mayiga\u00a0noted that the theme of this year\u2019s Ekisaakaate, \u201cRoots of resilience embracing obuntubulamu for mental wellness,\u201d called on society to return to cultural norms that promote respect and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n<p>He said participants learnt\u00a0that obuntubulamu begins at home and that open communication about personal challenges helps young people receive guidance and support.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/e25c965e-c3ec-4821-a20a-6ac5d00149e4.jpg\" alt=\"Nabagereka of Buganda (Queen of Buganda) Sylvia Nagginda, addressing the congregation during the closing of the 19th Ekisaakaate held at Hormisdallen School Gayaza in Wakiso district on Saturday, January 10, 2026. (Photo by Juliet Anna Lukwago)<\/p>\n<p>He was accompanied by Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, the first deputy Katikkiro, Prof.\u00a0Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo, the speaker of Buganda Lukiiko, Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, the minister in charge of the Nnabagereka\u2019s Office, Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko, Robert Sserwanga Ssaalongo, Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Ekisaakaate 2026 brought together boys and girls aged between five and 18 from diverse backgrounds.
