His trip featured stops in Ethiopia, Tanzania and Lesotho. He initially planned to visit Somalia \u2013 in what would have been the first visit by a Chinese foreign minister since the 1980s \u2013 but the trip was postponed on Friday. China\u2019s embassy in Somalia cited \u201cscheduling conflicts\u201d as the reason for the change in itinerary.Continuing a 36-year tradition, the Chinese foreign minister chose Africa for his first overseas destination of the year.
