{"id":16977,"date":"2026-01-11T12:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T12:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/16977\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T12:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T12:00:13","slug":"updf-renovates-manjasi-high-school-kiyeyi-health-cent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/16977\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDF renovates Manjasi high school, Kiyeyi health cent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>__________________<\/p>\n<p>The Uganda People\u2019s Defence Force (UPDF) has injected funds into the renovation of an information and communication block and donated stainless steel water tanks to Manjasi High School in Tororo\u00a0district as part of efforts to improve learning and sanitation conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Kiyeyi Health Centre III in West Budama Central Constituency also benefited from the construction of a chain-link fence and the renovation of twin staff houses to accommodate the health centre in-charge and the senior nursing officer, who had been renting dilapidated structures.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding over the commissioning ceremony on January 7,\u00a02026, the Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Jacob Markson Oboth, said the initiative demonstrates that the UPDF is a pro-people institution committed to improving citizens\u2019 livelihoods beyond its constitutional mandate of protecting and promoting peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019The rehabilitation of the twin staff house at Kiyeyi Health Centre III, Tororo district, was implemented by the UPDF in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Tarehe Sita, defending the gains of the revolution and honouring the sacrifice of the freedom fighter, a call for fundamental unity, peace and social economic transformation.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/4fdcfa2b-26a6-4b54-a3ae-223e3451ba61.jpg\" alt=\"Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Jacob Markson Oboth, (third from left) hands over the stainless steel water tanks.
