Msgr. Rogers Kabuye, during the New Year’s eve mass at the Youth Encounter the Savior (YES) Centre, Nsambya in Kampala city.

“God has given us many good things during the past year. There are many things we prayed about and received. But there are also things God gave us even before we requested for them. Some of us got the gift of marriage. Others got jobs. There are also those who added to their academic qualifications. For all the good things we got, let us be grateful to God. For those that we have not yet received, let us continue to pray with faith and hope.”

“As we enter the New Year, 2026, let us make an effort to improve our relationship with God and our fellow human beings. Let’s shun every bad habit, such as ill will, hatred, tribalism, corruption, violence and disrespect. Let us reconcile and live in harmony with our brothers and sisters,” Kabuye said.

<img decoding="async" src="https://www.europesays.com/africa/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/6d8510da-0eb2-422f-99b7-67ce793a07cb.jpg" alt="The Holy Trinity Choir leading the singing during the New Year's Eve prayers, "Omukisa Gw'omwaka," organised by the Catholic Church at YES Centre Sports Arena, Nsambya, in Makindye Division.
