{"id":172521,"date":"2026-04-05T18:26:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T18:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/172521\/"},"modified":"2026-04-05T18:26:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T18:26:07","slug":"national-housing-and-real-estate-development-programme-opens-registration-for-construction-companies-to-implement-new-and-stalled-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/172521\/","title":{"rendered":"National Housing and Real Estate Development Programme opens registration for construction companies to implement new and stalled projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tripoli based Libyan government announced yesterday that its National Housing and Real Estate Development Programme (NHRDP) has announced the opening of registration for specialized companies, as part of preparations for launching and implementing residential complex projects and completing existing ones.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement says the registration targets real estate developers and investors, general contracting companies, real estate investment companies, as well as consulting firms and offices specializing in management and supervision.<\/p>\n<p>The NHREDP confirmed that projects will be tendered through official bidding processes and various implementation mechanisms, requiring the completion of approved forms and the submission of required documents.<\/p>\n<p>Registration files will be received at the NHRDP \u2018s headquarters on Nasr Street in Tripoli, starting Sunday, 5 April.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Bank of Libya house-construction finance initiative<br \/>It will be recalled that on 13 July last year, at a Tripoli workshop, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, said that LD 3 to 5 billion every year is not a large amount to be invested by the CBL in the construction of housing projects as a proportion of the total state budget or what is being spent on subsidized fuel annually. This is especially the case in view of the positive effect on youth and Libyan society resulting from the increased availability of housing, he had added.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Issa was speaking at the workshop entitled \u201cThe Role of the Banking Sector in Revitalizing Stalled Housing Projects and Urban Development\u201d, organised by the Central Bank of Libya in cooperation with the Tripoli based Libyan government.<\/p>\n<p>At the same workshop, the government had revealed that 150,000 housing units are to be completed between 2025 and 2030.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe workshop was attended by several heads of banks, boards of directors and general managers, in addition to representatives of government agencies and real estate developers.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a
