Accra, Jan. 11, GNA- The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested six persons suspected of engaging in land guard activities and\u00a0possessing\u00a0firearms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A police brief said the suspects were arrested following a distress call received on January 10, 2026, at about 1250 hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It said police officers who responded to the call\u00a0encountered\u00a0a group of about 50 men who were allegedly firing at workers at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The brief said the police returned fire and pursued the suspects into a nearby bush.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It said six\u00a0persons\u00a0were arrested out of the group, while others fled.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The police seized one AK-47 rifle with five rounds of ammunition, a Luger T9 pistol with five rounds of ammunition, a Regard MC pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition, and four motorbikes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The suspects, together with the exhibits, were sent to the Accra Regional Police Headquarters for further investigations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
