{"id":17916,"date":"2026-01-12T01:03:26","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T01:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/17916\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T01:03:26","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T01:03:26","slug":"ruto-to-mt-kenya-our-bond-is-unbreakable-dawan-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/17916\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruto to Mt Kenya: \u2018Our Bond Is Unbreakable\u2019 | Dawan Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"relative group\">Kenya, January 11, 2026 &#8211; President William Ruto has pushed back against claims that his relationship with the Mt Kenya region is weakening, insisting that no individual or group can drive a wedge between him and the people who overwhelmingly backed him in the 2022 General Election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"relative group\">Speaking on Sunday during a church service at ACK St Paul\u2019s Church Kariki in Othaya, Nyeri County, the President said there were deliberate efforts by unnamed individuals to sow division between his leadership and the region. \u201cThere are people who think they can create a rift between me and people of Mt Kenya,\u201d Ruto said. \u201cThey cannot destroy what the region and I have built together. That is impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"relative group\">Ruto urged those attempting to separate him from the Mountain to \u201clook elsewhere\u201d, maintaining that he would continue walking side by side with the residents. He reminded the congregation that his presidency was built on the region\u2019s support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"relative group\">\u201cI am the President of Kenya because of your votes. The government I am running today is because of your votes. You gave me the opportunity to serve you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"relative group\">The President noted that the people of Mt Kenya had entrusted him with addressing practical issues that affect their daily lives, including education, agriculture, business growth, infrastructure and access to power. He added that his administration would ultimately be judged on delivery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"relative group\">\u201cI know the test is in 2027 and everybody will be assessed according to the work they have done,\u201d Ruto stated.
