(Credit: Mulago National Referral Hospital)<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, April 8, she reported that her chronic pain had finally subsided.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital in a\u00a0post on social media X\u00a0states that during the ongoing second\u00a0Breast Reconstruction Camp, &#8220;over 20 patients will receive life-changing procedures, including breast reconstruction and reduction, supporting survivors of breast cancer &amp; women facing complications from excessive breast size&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The camp is run in collaboration between Mulago Hospital and Interplast Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Dr\u00a0Irene Asaba Mugisha, the head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit, describes breast reconstruction as complex, with each procedure taking between three and six hours.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/28e5787b-f045-4dc3-8c9f-dd7f37e087d2.jpg\" alt=\"A medical team at Mulago National Referral Hospital while conducting a surgery during the Breast Reconstruction Camp on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
