{"id":19013,"date":"2026-01-12T15:18:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T15:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/19013\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T15:18:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T15:18:08","slug":"organizers-condemn-unacceptable-behavior-of-players-and-officials-after-fighting-at-africa-cup-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/19013\/","title":{"rendered":"Organizers Condemn \u2018Unacceptable Behavior Of Players And Officials\u2019 After Fighting At Africa Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Organizers of the Africa Cup of Nations have condemned the \u201cunacceptable behavior of players and officials\u201d and are reviewing video evidence of journalists fighting after the quarterfinal between Algeria and Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The Confederation of African Football said Monday that it was also investigating match incidents during the quarterfinal between Cameroon and the host nation, Morocco.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCAF strongly condemns any inappropriate behavior which occurs during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers,\u201d CAF said in a statement. \u201cAppropriate actions will be sought against anyone whose behavior is not consistent with professional conduct at CAF events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scuffles broke out between players and team officials on the field after Algeria\u2019s defeat by Nigeria in Marrakech on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Referee Issa Sy was shielded from irate Algeria team staff and was escorted off the field.
