The firm announced his appointment in its Nairobi office on Friday (9 January). Also in Nairobi, JK Kibicho &amp; Co Advocates announced the elevation of Maureen Cheruiyot to partner last week.<\/p>\n<p>Mutulis specialises in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;A), and regulatory and commercial issues. ALN Kenya highlighted his ability to navigate the evolving complexity of the wider African business environment, with his practice spanning African and international markets.<\/p>\n<p>The new partner started his legal career at Mboya Wangong\u2019u and Waiyaki in 2011, after which he transferred to Britam Asset Managers as a senior legal associate in 2014. He joined KN Law in 2017 before his jump to ALN Kenya in 2019, and transferred to Slaughter &amp; May for a six-month spell as a visiting lawyer in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>ALN Kenya senior partner Karim Anjarwalla said in a statement: \u201cIn Kevin, we see a partner who reflects the values we stand for: Pan-African in mindset, down to earth, practical, rigorous and determined and with a deep understanding of risk and our clients\u2019 commercial objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dominic Rebelo, head of the ALN Kenya corporate and commercial practice, added: \u201cHis leadership, integrity and collaborative approach will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our corporate expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ALN offering has boosted its partner ranks with several significant arrivals over the last year, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanlawbusiness.com\/news\/aln-tanzania-snaps-up-london-commercial-lawyer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">corporate finance partner Edward Williams<\/a> in ALN Tanzania\u2019s Dar es Salaam office in April last year, and former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanlawbusiness.com\/news\/aln-poaches-hogan-lovells-south-africa-lead\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hogan Lovells partner Chris Green<\/a>, who also joined the Dar es Salaam location in January the same year.<\/p>\n<p>Formerly known as Anjarwalla &amp; Khanna, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africanlawbusiness.com\/news\/18430-aln-pursues-its-pan-african-dream\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ALN Kenya is the founding branch<\/a> of Africa Legal Network (ALN) which now operates through law firms throughout the African continent.<\/p>\n<p>JK Kibicho &amp; Co<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cheruiyot focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation, and serves as a professional mediator, data protection officer and advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Her work spans commercial and civil issues, employment, family law, and environment and law matters.<\/p>\n<p>Cheruiyot has represented a clientele including Brookside Dairy Limited, NIC Bank, the Kenya Industrial Property Institute registry, the Kenyan Electoral Boundary Commission and the Kenyan Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>She has worked at J.K.
