Held from 22 to 24 April 2026, the workshop is aimed at developing a strategy and identifying priorities for South Africa\u2019s Chairship of SADC.<\/p>\n<p>Among the participants in the workshop are Senior Government Officials, representatives of State-Owned Enterprises, Development Finance Institutions and Senior Officials from the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone, Botswana.<\/p>\n<p>The Workshop is reflecting on the implementation of the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030) in order to foster synergies with South Africa\u2019s national development frameworks, National Development Plan (NDP) 2030 and the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) and priorities. Specifically, the Workshop is seeking to achieve the following objectives:<\/p>\n<p>Development of South Africa\u2019s strategy and priorities for its SADC Chairship.<br \/>\nDevelopment of a well-coordinated strategy for the implementation of the RISDP 2020-2030.<br \/>\nDeepening understanding among government senior officials of the SADC Vision 2050.<br \/>\nFostering alignment between South Africa\u2019s national priorities and regional obligations.<br \/>\nRaising awareness of RISDP Mid-Term Review outcomes and how these should be mainstreamed in South Africa\u2019s Chairship Strategy.<br \/>\nPromotion of a whole-of-government approach to South Africa\u2019s SADC Chairship.<\/p>\n<p>SADC is a regional intergovernmental organisation that was formed in August 1992 in Namibia (Windhoek) to advance the struggle against colonialism, Apartheid and the promotion of deeper economic integration, peace, and security.<\/p>\n<p>SADC consists of 16 Member States, including South Africa.
