PS Mang&#8217;eni tells women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/b21fc47b-26db-41c8-ac68-a7b4c959f9ac.jpg\" style=\"max-width: 100%; width: 100%;\" class=\"ui-draggable ui-draggable-handle\"\/>Principal Secretary for Cooperatives&#13;<br \/>\nSusan Mang\u2019eni during the launch of the NYOTA Project&#13;<br \/>\nBusiness Start-Up Capital disbursement at the ASK Grounds in Nakuru on January 9,&#13;<br \/>\n2026\/SUSAN MANG\u2019ENI<\/p>\n<p>Principal Secretary for Cooperatives Susan Mang\u2019eni has cautioned young women against financially exploiting the men under the Nyota Fund programme, particularly through frequent requests for money and transport fare.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during an address to&#13;<br \/>\nbeneficiaries, the PS urged the young women to focus on hard work and personal&#13;<br \/>\neffort instead of depending on male peers for financial support. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\nShe noted that the habit of asking&#13;<br \/>\nyoung men for fare is contributing to unnecessary financial strain among many&#13;<br \/>\nof them.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cLadies, please don\u2019t financially&#13;<br \/>\ndrain our boys, kazi ni kujituma. Msiitishe fare,\u201d she said, stressing that&#13;<br \/>\neconomic empowerment initiatives are meant to encourage independence.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\nThe PS also highlighted how changing&#13;<br \/>\nsocial interactions among youth have led to casual name-calling and&#13;<br \/>\nexpectations that often result in financial pressure. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\nShe advised both male and female&#13;<br \/>\nbeneficiaries to maintain respectful boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cKuna majina sasa mtaanza kuitwa.&#13;<br \/>\nMaster, wengine mnaitwa bossy, wengine wakudumu, mnaitwa kiongoss. Your name is Ibrahim).<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\nPS Mang\u2019eni added that some of the&#13;<br \/>\nyoung men, in an attempt to meet these expectations, have been pushed into&#13;<br \/>\nunnecessary spending that affects their ability to focus on income-generating&#13;<br \/>\nactivities. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cAlafu muambiwe muanze kutuma fair.&#13;<br \/>\nNyinyi madem msifilisishe vijana wetu. Kazi ni kujituma kama hiyo ndio nia yako,&#13;<br \/>\njitume. Ni kujituma. Usiitishe fare kwa vijana wetu ili wapate fare wafanye&#13;<br \/>\nbiashara,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n(Then some of you will be asked to&#13;<br \/>\nsend fare. Ladies, do not drive our young men into financial lack. The goal is&#13;<br \/>\nto make something out for yourself. So work hard.
