Addis Ababa, January 13, 2026 (ENA)\u2014Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called for a nationwide campaign to protect Ethiopia\u2019s natural resources, stressing the urgency of tackling soil loss that he described as \u201cextremely difficult to replace.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cLet Us Rise Up, Let Our Hands Touch the Soil, and Let Us Build Our Country\u201d, PM Abiy made the calls on social media post today.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause our environmental protection system is weak, we have been losing our fertile soil, which is extremely difficult to replace once it is gone,\u201d the Prime Minister wrote. <\/p>\n

He welcomed the cooperative efforts between the people and government, saying it is \u201cencouraging that the environmental protection work, begun through cooperation between the people and the government, has started in this way before the rainy season arrives.\u201d<\/p>\n

PM Abiy further \u00a0urged collective responsibility for conservation.<\/p>\n
