President William Ruto is set to depart the country on
\nMonday, May 4, 2026, for a two-day state visit to Tanzania, in a move aimed at
\nstrengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbouring nations.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Ruto will hold a one-on-one meeting with
\nhis host, Samia Suluhu Hassan, before the two leaders convene official
\nbilateral talks involving delegations from both countries.<\/p>\n

The discussions are expected to focus on deepening
\ncooperation in key sectors including trade, investment, infrastructure and
\ntransport, areas that remain central to economic integration within the East
\nAfrican region.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from State House, the talks will
\nseek to reinforce the longstanding fraternal relations between Kenya and
\nTanzania, with both sides also expected to explore new areas of mutual
\ninterest.<\/p>\n

The leaders will later address the media, outlining key
\noutcomes of their engagements.<\/p>\n

A major highlight of the visit will be the signing of
\nseveral Memoranda of Understanding and cooperation agreements, signalling
\nrenewed commitment to joint development initiatives.<\/p>\n

In addition, Ruto and Suluhu are scheduled to participate in
\na Business Forum bringing together investors and private sector players from
\nboth countries, in a bid to boost cross-border trade and investment
\nopportunities.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, May 5, President Ruto is expected to travel to
\nDodoma, where he will address the Parliament of the United Republic of
\nTanzania, a rare diplomatic honour that underscores the growing ties between
\nthe two countries.<\/p>\n

In a communication issued last week, Mussa Azzan Zungu
\nnotified Members of Parliament of the upcoming address scheduled for 11 am.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Clerk of Parliament announces that on Tuesday, May 5,
\n2026, the President of Kenya William Ruto will address the Tanzanian Parliament
\nfrom 11 am,\u201d Zungu said in the notice.<\/p>\n

The Speaker described the address as a significant and
\nhistoric occasion, expected to be attended by top national leaders, and aimed
\nat strengthening the relationship and brotherhood between Kenya and Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Members of Parliament have been urged to attend the sitting
\nwithout fail to listen to the visiting Head of State.<\/p>\n

Diplomatic experts note that a sitting president addressing
\nanother country\u2019s parliament is not routine protocol, but rather a strong
\nsignal of mutual trust, political goodwill and strategic alignment.<\/p>\n

Such an address often reflects deepening bilateral relations
\nand a shared commitment to regional cooperation.<\/p>\n

President Ruto is expected to conclude his visit later on
\nTuesday and return to Kenya after completing his engagements.<\/p>\n

The trip comes at a time when both countries are seeking to
\nenhance regional integration and unlock economic opportunities within the East
