{"id":21839,"date":"2026-01-14T00:47:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T00:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/21839\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T00:47:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T00:47:11","slug":"jamb-warns-on-biodata-changes-for-2026-utme-registration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/21839\/","title":{"rendered":"JAMB Warns on Biodata Changes for 2026 UTME Registration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has issued detailed warnings on biodata integrity, biometric capture, and identity verification for candidates participating in the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry registration exercise.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\"   decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2014483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-19-at-09.50.55.jpeg\" alt=\"JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is'haq Oloyede\" width=\"1080\" height=\"721\"\/>JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is\u2019haq Oloyede\n<\/p>\n<p>In a Tuesday statement signed by the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Board warned candidates against post-registration biodata changes.\n<\/p>\n<p>PUNCH Online earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/punchng.com\/jamb-begins-2026-utme-de-forms-sale-january-26-sets-registration-exam-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reported<\/a> that the registration for UTME and Direct Entry form for both Nigerians and foreign prospective applicants will commence on Monday, January 26, 2026 and end Saturday, February 28, 2026.\n<\/p>\n<p>The Board declared, \u201cOnce a candidate completes 2026 registration with biodata supplied by NIMC, subsequent changes of biodata would not be effected by JAMB for the 2026 admission. No Change Will Be Tolerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JAMB explained that updates from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) would only apply under strict conditions.\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"   decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-223913\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/JAMB-logo.jpg\" alt=\"JAMB\" width=\"800\" height=\"388\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 2026, changes in previous data by NIMC will only be updated on existing JAMB records only if the affected candidates go through a process RE-QUERY to retrieve the updated data through TEMPL 007 during 2026 registration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On multiple registrations, the Board stated clearly: \u201cCandidates are not permitted to register more than once.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the event of any error during the registration process, such candidates are to seek correction from the Board and not to obtain a fresh application, as duplication of application vitiates all the applications.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>JAMB further warned against the use of multiple identity records.\n<\/p>\n<p>It stated, \u201cThe use of multiple National Identification Numbers (NINs) by a single candidate for the purpose of double registration, impersonation, or any form of identity manipulation is strictly prohibited and will be severely sanctioned.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The Board emphasised biometric integrity. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCandidates are advised to ensure that only their own ten (10) fingers are captured individually and correctly at the CBT Centre,\u201d it noted, adding that, \u201cOnly candidates, whose biometric verification is successful on examination day would be permitted to sit the UTME or Mock.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>JAMB also cautioned against third-party involvement in candidates\u2019 profiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNon-candidates, including parents\/guardians or any proxy, are NOT allowed to transact any business on any candidate\u2019s profile,\u201d the board declared.\n<\/p>\n<p>The statement warned that: \u201cAny candidate who makes his password, profile code or other security codes available to another person (parents, friends, tutorial teachers, fraudsters etc.) is liable for any alteration done by such other person(s).\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>On compulsory disclosure of prior admissions, JAMB said: \u201cCandidates are henceforth required to disclose their admission (matriculation) status by indicating their previous registration details with the year of UTME\/DE at the point of registration.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>It added that: \u201cAny false or non-declaration of previous registration\/matriculation will automatically invalidate the candidate\u2019s registration\/previous admission.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>JAMB reiterated that registration is restricted to approved centres only.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegistration can only be done at JAMB-approved Centres across the country.
