{"id":220145,"date":"2026-05-05T16:34:31","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T16:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/220145\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T16:34:31","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T16:34:31","slug":"otjiwanda-expo-exhibitors-laud-platform-business-home-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/220145\/","title":{"rendered":"Otjiwanda expo exhibitors laud platform &#8211; Business Home 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EXHIBITORS at the Otjiwanda Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Youth Expo have praised the event for providing a platform to showcase their products and generate income.<\/p>\n<p>The expo, which started on 29 April and concluded on 3 May at the Omulunga Stadium at Grootfontein, attracted more than 30 exhibitors, mainly youth-led businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Event organiser Benjamin Pablo says the initiative is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expo is a platform for young people to showcase their talents and business ideas, and our long-term goal is to grow the local economy and reduce unemployment,\u201d Pablo says.<\/p>\n<p>He says the turnout had been positive since the start of the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started a few days ago and the turnout has been good. Young people are showing interest,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Exhibitor Mwoombola Edson says the platform provides an opportunity to earn an income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is one of the ways young people can make extra income. It is better to start something small than remain unemployed,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Another exhibitor, Monika Shipanga from Ondangwa, says the expo helped increase attraction towards her business.<br \/>\u201c<br \/>Platforms like this help us reach more customers and support our livelihoods,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>The event\u2019s vice chairperson, Angel Shetukana, says the expo, which started in 2018, is held annually to promote youth development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a platform for young people to engage in business, showcase their talents and take advantage of opportunities available to them,\u201d Shetukana says.<\/p>\n<p>The expo also featured entertainment performances.<\/p>\n<p>In an age of information overload, Sunrise is The Namibian\u2019s morning briefing, delivered at 6h00 from Monday<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tto Friday.
