{"id":220147,"date":"2026-05-05T16:35:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T16:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/220147\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T16:35:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T16:35:13","slug":"tanzania-mp-kingu-kenya-didnt-make-mistake-electing-ruto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/220147\/","title":{"rendered":"Tanzania MP Kingu: Kenya didn\u2019t make mistake electing Ruto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/dc4fe534-c54e-44f1-b252-c7d19d39556f.png\" class=\"ui-draggable ui-draggable-handle\" style=\"max-width: 100%; width: 100%;\"\/>Tanzanian MP Elibariki Kingu speaking in Dodoma on May 5, 2026. \/ Screengrab<\/p>\n<p>A Tanzanian legislator has publicly endorsed Kenya\u2019s leadership, declaring that Kenyans did not make a mistake in electing President\u00a0William Ruto.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Parliament in Dodoma, MP\u00a0Elibariki Kingu delivered a vote of thanks following President Ruto\u2019s address, praising both the speech and the growing ties between Kenya and Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the address echoed the ideals of the region\u2019s founding leaders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thank you for giving me the opportunity to give a vote of thanks to our beloved brother from Kenya, beloved to many Tanzanian MPs and citizens.\u00a0The speech he has given to this Parliament today has reminded me that the dreams of the late\u00a0Julius Nyerere\u00a0and the late\u00a0Jomo Kenyatta\u00a0live in Presidents\u00a0William Ruto\u00a0and\u00a0Samia Suluhu Hassan,&#8221; the MP said.<\/p>\n<p>Kingu expressed confidence in Kenya\u2019s leadership, praising the strong relations between the two heads of state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom his address, I\u2019m convinced that the love President Suluhu has for Kenyans, and the love she has for her brother President Ruto, has convinced me beyond reasonable doubt that Kenyans did not make a mistake electing President Ruto to be their leader,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey did not make a mistake in entrusting him with the office of the President of the country that we love.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The MP also underscored the close social and political ties between the neighbouring countries, insisting that national borders cannot divide them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you go back to Kenya, tell them that Tanzanian Parliament regards them as their brothers and sisters.
