Applause filled
\nTanzania\u2019s Parliament Tuesday after a legislator delivered an
\nunexpected prayer wishing President William Ruto victory in the 2027 general election.<\/p>\n

Singida West
\nconstituency MP Emmanuel Kingu delivered the heartfelt remarks in the National Assembly in Dodoma, following President
\nRuto\u2019s powerful speech to lawmakers. \n<\/p>\n

Ruto was in Tanzania
\nfor a two-day state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties
\nbetween the neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n

In an emotional
\naddress that drew applause from members, Kingu said Ruto\u2019s speech
\nhad reminded him of the enduring dreams of the founding fathers of
\nboth nations, Julius Nyerere and Jomo Kenyatta, which he said
\ncontinue to live on through current leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe words spoken
\nby President Ruto in this House today have reminded me of two things:
\nthat the dreams of Mwalimu Nyerere and Mzee Kenyatta are still alive
\nin the hearts of our presidents, Samia Suluhu Hassan and Dr William
\nRuto,\u201d Kingu said.<\/p>\n

He praised Ruto\u2019s
\nleadership, noting that his address demonstrated the trust Kenyans
\nplaced in him was not misplaced. \n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are convinced
\nthat the love President Ruto has for Kenyans shows they did not make
\na mistake in choosing him as their leader,\u201d Kingu said.<\/p>\n

Kingu emphasised the
\ndeep historical and cultural ties between Kenya and Tanzania,
\ndescribing citizens of both nations as \u201cbrothers and sisters\u201d
\nwhose unity transcends borders.<\/p>\n

\u201cParliament of
\nTanzania considers Kenyans as our blood relatives. Borders cannot
\ndivide us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a rare moment in
\nparliamentary proceedings, the MP offered a prayer for Ruto, quoting
\nthe Bible from Psalms 121:7-8 and asking for divine protection over
\nthe Kenyan leader. \n<\/p>\n

He expressed
\nconfidence in Ruto\u2019s leadership and wished him victory in the next
\ngeneral election.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Tanzanians, we
\nwill continue praying for you. May God protect you in all your work
\nnow and forever,\u201d Kingu said, adding, \u201cGo as a hero, Ruto. We
\nwill remember you.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also commended Suluhu\u2019s reforms in Tanzania, noting that her
\nleadership, alongside Ruto\u2019s, reflects a shared vision for progress
\nin the region.<\/p>\n

The remarks capped a
\nhigh-profile parliamentary session that underscored growing
\ncooperation between Nairobi and Dodoma, with leaders from both sides
