{"id":223301,"date":"2026-05-07T14:10:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T14:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/223301\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T14:10:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T14:10:16","slug":"just-in-king-misuzulus-protector-passes-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/223301\/","title":{"rendered":"JUST IN: King Misuzulu&#8217;s protector passes away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0e9db563b71f4179807387a66671e806.jpg\" alt=\"King Misuzulu's bodyguard, Prince Muziwoxolo (insert), passed away on Friday, 1 May 2026.\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n                    King Misuzulu&#8217;s bodyguard, Prince Muziwoxolo (insert), passed away on Friday, 1 May 2026.&#13;\n                <\/p>\n<p>KING Misuzulu and the Zulu royal family are mourning.<\/p>\n<p>This after the passing away of trusted royal bodyguard Prince Muziwoxolo &#8220;Xolani&#8221; Graduate Zulu.<\/p>\n<p>The 49-year-old prince was one of the royal house&#8217;s most respected and trusted protectors, serving the late King Zwelithini and King Misuzulu for years.<\/p>\n<p>His life ended tragically on Friday, 1 May 2026, in a horrific car accident while travelling between Pongola and Nongoma in KZN.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Muziwoxolo was protecting King Misuzulu and his wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni, at the time of his passing.<\/p>\n<p>Royal house spokesman Prince Thulani and King Misuzulu confirmed Prince Muziwoxolo&#8217;s death to Daily Sun.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was the protector for the late King Zwelithini and was also the protector of the current king,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Actually, there&#8217;re no protectors hired to protect the queens. They&#8217;re hired to protect the king. However, the king can assign his protectors to protect the queens, but it must be clear that there&#8217;re no protectors dedicated to protecting the queens.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-smallsrc=\"https:\/\/cdn.24.co.za\/files\/Cms\/General\/d\/13101\/b0846640602b42229e352e4e0f81be69.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6bd966dc561041498bce4980260abc46.jpg\" title=\"King Misuzulu is mourning the passing of his bodyguard, Prince Muziwoxolo. Photo by: Jabulani Langa<\/p>\n<p>Prince Muziwoxolo&#8217;s long service and dedication to protecting the kings, from late King Zwelithini to King Misuzulu, will be his legacy, Prince Thulani said.<\/p>\n<p>The prince will be buried on Saturday, 9 May 2026, in Emakhosini at Emahhashini Cemetery in Nongoma, where many Zulu royals and kings are laid to rest, according to Prince Thulani.<\/p>\n<p>ALSO READ | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snl24.com\/dailysun\/celebs\/former-generations-actress-refuses-roles-even-when-broke-20260507\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;I chose my soul over money!&#8217; \u2013 Katlego<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The funeral service will take place at the sports field outside KwaKhethomthandayo royal palace in the same village before the burial.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Outside KwaKhethomthandayo royal palace there&#8217;s a sports field, and that&#8217;s where the funeral service will be held,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>KwaKhethomthandayo royal palace is wherethe\u00a0 late King Zwelithini&#8217;s funeral service happened in 2021.
