Brigade are undertaking reconstruction works in Jamaica after extensive damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Videos and photographs shared with the Ghana News Agency show the Ghanaian engineers engaged in roof reconstruction, carpentry and structural repairs on residential buildings affected by the storm.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The images depict soldiers mounted on damaged rooftops, replacing torn roofing sheets, reinforcing wooden\u00a0trusses\u00a0and supervising works to restore houses\u00a0rendered\u00a0unsafe by the hurricane.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Others are\u00a0seen\u00a0coordinating ground support, measuring\u00a0materials\u00a0and\u00a0assisting\u00a0with installations to\u00a0stabilise\u00a0affected structures.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The deployment forms part of Ghana\u2019s humanitarian and reconstruction support to Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa swept across the island, destroying homes, public\u00a0infrastructure\u00a0and livelihoods, particularly in low-lying and vulnerable communities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" data-placeholder-resp=\"1024x683\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" contingent following a request from the Government of Jamaica, in line with bilateral relations and Ghana\u2019s commitment to international humanitarian\u00a0assistance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The team is providing\u00a0specialised\u00a0engineering support, focusing on rapid repairs to enable displaced residents to return safely to their homes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" of the deployment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said the mission underscored Ghana\u2019s growing role in international disaster response and South-South cooperation, particularly within the Commonwealth and the Caribbean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Ghanaian engineers are expected to continue reconstruction works in selected communities, while collaborating with
