{"id":23555,"date":"2026-01-14T19:51:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/23555\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T19:51:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:51:07","slug":"three-suspects-killed-in-shootout-on-n12-near-nasrec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/23555\/","title":{"rendered":"Three suspects killed in shootout on N12 near Nasrec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JOHANNESBURG &#8211; The N12 near Nasrec in the south of Johannesburg has been closed after a shoot-out.<\/p>\n<p>A gun battle ensued between police and suspected armed robbers.<\/p>\n<p>Three suspects were shot and killed in the process, while one was left injured.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is reported that, the police operationalised information about suspects who had just robbed a courier vehicle in Tokoza,&#8221; SAPS said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The suspects driving a silver Corolla vehicle were spotted at Kliprivier road joining N12 road towards Soweto when the police tried to stop them. They sped off, leading to a high-speed chase and shootout. The suspect&#8217;s vehicle came to a standstill on the N12 road between Xavier and the Soweto off-ramp. Three of the suspects were declared dead and one was injured.
