Wahdan defeated Russia\u2019s champion in the semi-finals before overcoming Romania\u2019s top fighter in the final to claim first place on 14 May.<\/p>\n<p>The victory marks Wahdan\u2019s third major international title in recent years, following his gold-medal triumphs at the 2025 World Games in China and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His latest achievement further cements his reputation as one of Egypt\u2019s leading combat sports athletes.<\/p>\n<p>Egypt also celebrated a <a href=\"https:\/\/egyptian-gazette.com\/sports\/egypt-secures-4-medals-in-sanda-world-cup\/#google_vignette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">second gold medal<\/a> through world champion Ahmed Abdel Hamid Shalaby, who produced a commanding performance to defeat Kazakhstan\u2019s fighter in the open weight final.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Menatallah Mohamed Hassan secured the <a href=\"https:\/\/egyptian-gazette.com\/sports\/egypt-secures-4-medals-in-sanda-world-cup\/#google_vignette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u00a0silver medal<\/a> after a hard-fought final against China\u2019s champion, showing resilience and determination throughout the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Egyptian fighter Ali Nasser Ahmed also represented the national team strongly before suffering a foot injury during his bout, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament and begin medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The Sanda World Cup brought together elite fighters from around the globe in one of the sport\u2019s most competitive championships.
