{"id":24543,"date":"2026-01-15T08:05:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T08:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/24543\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T08:05:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T08:05:13","slug":"valhalla-park-youth-gunned-down-in-front-of-brothers-by-alleged-friend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/24543\/","title":{"rendered":"Valhalla Park youth gunned down in front of brothers by alleged friend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 19-year-old boy was fatally shot in Valhalla Park while sitting with his brothers outside a shop on Tuesday evening, leaving the community in shock.<\/p>\n<p>In a shocking act of betrayal, it is alleged that\u00a0 Lincoln Schuller, 19, was shot dead by a former friend of his.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the Cape Argus&#8217; sister Daily Voice&#8217;s source, the former friend, who shot Schuller in Angela Street, is an alleged Rude Boys gang member.<\/p>\n<p>The insider explained: \u201cHe [Schuller] was sitting on the corner at the shop, then the two young guys came by and they went into the store.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo of Lincoln\u2019s broetjies (brothers) were sitting with him, then they came out of the store and they pressed the gun to his shoulder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two brothers asked them, \u2018What\u2019s going on, leave him alone, he\u2019s my brother\u2019 and that\u2019s when they started shooting him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe didn\u2019t do anything to them, he was just on his own buzz. Helping people every day and cleaning up the yards, he was just like that. He was never a gangster, but he was shot by these Rude Boys guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe one who shot him was his own friend who betrayed him. \u201d(voor hy gedraai het.)<\/p>\n<p>Schuller was known in the area as a friendly and jovial young man, who helped people in the community cleaning their yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said: \u201cBishop Lavis police responded to a complaint of a shooting on Tuesday evening, January 13, at about 6.55pm, in Angela Street, Valhalla Park, and upon arrival on the scene they found a 19-year-old male who sustained gunshot wounds to his body.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that Bishop Lavis detectives are investigating a murder case.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Lavis Community Policing Forum (CPF) Chairperson Amanda Davids said: \u201cThe Bishop Lavis CPF strongly condemns the ongoing killings in Valhalla Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur young men are dying on the streets on a daily basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ask that SAPS stabilise the area as soon as possible. We ask the community of Valhalla Park to come forward with any information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our own children shooting and murdering each other. The only way to put a stop to this is if we come together as a community and say enough.
