I was scared and stressed during the days before the results were released [on Tuesday].

“I had so many bad feelings and nightmares. I expected the worst and felt like all the work I put in was for nothing. And then I was shocked it turned out better than I expected. I was really relieved and so grateful. It was all God’s grace.”

The secret to her success? Camille said it was short and tight study sessions, asking dumb questions to completely understand and explaining the work to study buddies.

She shared: “I tried to study daily and some days I would sleep early and wake up really early to study. But it wasn’t always the case. I would also give myself just 20 minutes a day for each subject and knowing that my study time was short made it more fun that you just naturally want to study more than 20 minutes.

“In class I would ask a lot of questions even if they seemed “dumb” and that really helped to clarify work. What also helped was re-explaining the work to others and actively taking notes in class.

She also gave a special thanks to her physics onnie, Mrs Mafuya.

“My physics teacher, Mrs Mafuya, also played a huge role and would always sacrifice her time for extra classes, even pay for our transport and she always went the extra mile for us and took her family time to give us classes. All my other teachers also played such fundamental roles in my life and were my biggest supporters and therapists too. I am also a big procrastinator and overthinker sometimes.”

Camile said that she is unsure what she would like to become but will be doing an engineering internship this year.

Malibu High School congratulated their hoofmeisie with a post, stating: “Congratulations to the Class of 2025. Special congratulations to our 2025 Dux learner, Camille Moses.

“Dear Camille, we are incredibly proud of you and your outstanding achievement of eight distinctions – a truly epic accomplishment. What makes this success even more special is the humility, grace and kindness you continue to show. Thank you for being such a positive and inspiring presence. We wish you every success and fulfillment as you pursue your future plans. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement.”

Proud mother Janine Moses added: “Camille has been hardworking, diligent and consistent straight throughout her school years, starting at Silversands Primary already.

“She is such a humble, obedient and caring little person, very determined and strong-willed.

“She is also very fitness conscious and runs and exercises every single day. She would get up at 5am in the morning during her school years to exercise before school. Even on weekends, no exceptions.

[52
13537,15728,15721,3097,15723,15726,15724,15722,8293,15725,15727,131
0":"post-25548","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-south-africa","8":"tag-afrikaans","9":"tag-camile","10":"tag-camille-moses","11":"tag-god","12":"tag-hoofmeisie","13":"tag-janine-moses","14":"tag-kuils-river","15":"tag-malibu-high-school","16":"tag-national-senior-certificate","17":"tag-physical-sciences","18":"tag-silversands-primary","19":"tag-south-africa
["GET
