His family are reportedly delighted that he has found a way to move on.<\/p>\n

He has returned to practising medicine and said previously that he had made peace with his life and current position. <\/p>\n

His ex-wife admitted smothering their children<\/a>, but claimed she was so mentally unwell that she could not be held responsible for their deaths. <\/p>\n

A jury rejected her defence of insanity or infanticide after a five-week trial in 2023, with Justice Cameron Mander handing down a finite prison sentence of 18 years in June 2024. <\/p>\n

Immigration New Zealand confirmed she had been served with a deportation order<\/a> and would be deported once she had completed her sentence. <\/p>\n

She was reported to have appealed against her convictions. The Court of Appeal confirmed it had received notice from her lawyers, but no date had been set for any hearing.<\/p>\n

Her first official parole eligibility date has been recorded as September 19, 2027.<\/p>\n

In September 2024, on the third anniversary of the children\u2019s deaths, a tribute to the girls was posted on a Facebook group<\/a> made for people who supported their killer. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy wonderful little girls. It has been three years since I last held you tight and read you stories, tickled your tummies and kissed you all over,\u201d said the message.<\/p>\n

\u201cI miss you every single day.<\/p>\n
