has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to stamp out banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality, declaring that no amount of money is too much to spend in protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The governor made the declaration on Saturday in Lokoja while launching five heavy armoured patrol vehicles for deployment to Iluke and other security flashpoints across the state.

Ododo said the newly deployed vehicles are part of 50 armoured patrol vans procured by the state government to strengthen security operations and support security agencies in their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

According to him, the decision to procure the vehicles followed a physical assessment of the security situation in Iluke community, where recent criminal activities raised concerns among residents and government officials.

He noted that the armoured vehicles would complement the efforts of security personnel who have continued to demonstrate courage and commitment in confronting bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements threatening public safety.

The governor commended the gallant security officers operating in the state, describing them as dedicated personnel who remain steadfast in their mission to restore peace and protect communities.

<a community has sent a strong warning signal and underscored the need for more coordinated and proactive measures to prevent a recurrence anywhere in Kogi State,” he said.

Ododo reiterated that his administration would not negotiate with criminals but would instead continue to provide the necessary resources and logistical support required by security agencies to combat insecurity.

He maintained that the safety of residents remains a top priority of his government, adding that every part of the state would receive adequate attention in the ongoing fight against crime.

The governor further pledged to remain faithful to the oath of office he swore to uphold, assuring citizens that his administration would continue to protect lives and property across all nooks and crannies of the state.

He also stessed his commitment to improving the welfare and standard of living of the people, noting that security remains the foundation upon which sustainable development can be achieved.

The deployment of the armoured vehicles is expected to boost ongoing security operations and reinforce efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace
