Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu delivered a personal message to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday during a burial service in Murang\u2019a County.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the funeral of Alice Wangari Gakuya, mother of Embakasi North Member of Parliament James Gakuya, held at Makomboki village, Nyamu expressed that she misses the former deputy president and reflected on their past working relationship.<\/p>\n

The event drew political leaders from both national and county levels, including Gachagua, who was seated among the mourners.<\/p>\n

In her address, Nyamu spoke directly to Gachagua, recalling the history of their collaboration and the respect she holds for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI usually miss you and often look at old videos of how we used to work well. I wish things could continue in that way,\u201d Nyamu said.<\/p>\n

Nyamu highlighted the personal nature of her message, acknowledging the rupture in their professional association while underlining a broader sense of unity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe second deputy president of Kenya, you know that I was your friend,\u201d Nyamu told the audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven when we are on different sides, we are all a community, and we will never fall out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The senator also spoke of her relationship with the Gakuya family, describing it as akin to that of siblings, and noted that she had reached out to James Gakuya to offer support following the news of his mother\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Nyamu\u2019s speech conveyed a tone of reconciliation, emphasising respect and community over political divisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause things are the way they are right now, I won\u2019t say where I stand, but you all know,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
