{"id":317465,"date":"2026-07-05T13:20:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T13:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/317465\/"},"modified":"2026-07-05T13:20:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T13:20:12","slug":"explosive-whatsapps-expose-alleged-plot-to-rig-saps-tenders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/317465\/","title":{"rendered":"Explosive WhatsApps expose alleged plot to rig SAPS tenders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">What\u00ads\u00adApp messages between sus\u00adpen\u00added crime intel\u00adli\u00adgence boss Maj-Gen Feroz Khan and con\u00adtro\u00adver\u00adsial cigar\u00adettes boss Mohammad Sayed show how they allegedly conspired to manip\u00adu\u00adlate pro\u00adcure\u00adment in SAPS for their mutual bene\u00adfit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">These are among the allegations contained in documents before the Mad\u00adlanga com\u00admis\u00adsion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In an affidavit by com\u00admis\u00adsion invest\u00adig\u00adator Tshepo Nyatlo, he outlines how Sayed, a senior exec\u00adut\u00adive at tobacco firm Car\u00adnil\u00adinx, sup\u00adplied Khan with par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlars of the con\u00adten\u00adtious R3m UK trip taken by former Ekurhuleni municipal manager Imogen Mashazi in July 2022, in an alleged scheme to \u201cbuy influence\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Some of the other allegations before the Madlanga commission include that Khan and Sayed conspired to use SAPS resources to neut\u00adral\u00adise Car\u00adnil\u00adinx com\u00adpet\u00adit\u00adors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Other allegations are:<\/p>\n<p>there were improper attempts to manip\u00adu\u00adlate pro\u00adcure\u00adment in SAPS for their mutual bene\u00adfit;Khan reg\u00adu\u00adlarly shared con\u00adfid\u00aden\u00adtial crime intel\u00adli\u00adgence inform\u00ada\u00adtion with Sayed;they con\u00adspir\u00aded to orches\u00adtrate the removal of former inspector-gen\u00aderal of intel\u00adli\u00adgence Setl\u00adhomamaru Isaac Dintwe. This allegedly involved plant\u00ading ques\u00adtions in par\u00adlia\u00adment through the EFF in an attempt to trap Dintwe in a lie over his rela\u00adtion\u00adship with an alleged drug dealer;that at Sayed\u2019s request, Khan used his powers in the SAPS to provide Julius Malema with the address and details of a com\u00adplain\u00adant in a case against the EFF leader; andthat they discussed, on sev\u00aderal occa\u00adsions, Wiandre Pre\u00adtor\u00adius, who was allegedly employed by Sayed with Khan\u2019s assist\u00adance and was instru\u00admental in oper\u00ada\u00adtions designed to under\u00admine Sayed\u2019s rivals in the illegal tobacco industry.
