{"id":325888,"date":"2026-07-10T19:37:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T19:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/325888\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T19:37:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T19:37:14","slug":"silverback-awards-2026-launches-under-the-bold-rise-theme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/325888\/","title":{"rendered":"Silverback Awards 2026 Launches Under \u2018The Bold Rise\u2019 Theme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kampala \u2013The Uganda Advertising Association (UAA) has officially launched the 2026 Silverback Awards under the bold and aspirational theme, The Bold Rise, setting the stage for the most ambitious edition of Uganda\u2019s premier celebration of excellence in advertising, marketing, public relations, media and brand communications.<\/p>\n<p>In a symbolic departure from convention, this year\u2019s launch took place aboard the Promote Uganda Double Decker Bus, taking invited guests on a journey through Kampala before culminating at the Makerere University School of Industrial and Fine Art, an institution that has produced generations of Uganda\u2019s leading creative talent and continues to nurture many of the country\u2019s emerging innovators.<\/p>\n<p>Allen Ssempa, Chairperson, Silverback Awards 2026 says the launch on the move reflected the very spirit of the Silverback Awards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Silverback is one of Uganda\u2019s most powerful symbols. By aligning this year\u2019s awards with the country\u2019s tourism story, we\u2019re celebrating creativity as another national asset capable of taking Uganda to the world.<\/p>\n<p>The launch which was officiated by the Vice Chair of Board of Directors of Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Sarah Kagingo, attracted leaders from across Uganda\u2019s communications and business landscape, including the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), the Uganda Media Centre, Pepsi, Uganda Breweries Limited, agencies, media houses, marketers and other industry stakeholders, demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing Uganda\u2019s creative sector.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-133104 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/23be86f4-ffa0-4175-838e-411d47c45a5c-200x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommendation on the creative launch of the awards. Nostalgic memories of Bimbo Ice Cream at Dewinton road, Fidodido at Bombo road, KPC and the Ivory Tower,\u201d Kagingo said adding that \u201cthe Silverback awards are back and I look forward to a delightful and creative evening of chest-thumping.\u201d<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-133101\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/dddb0017-c3cf-45f6-b19f-368fb8f03e2b-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdvertising is key to business growth and Uganda Advertising Association is a valued member of the Private Sector\u201d said Kagingo.<\/p>\n<p>The launch also featured an address by Preetesh Sewraj, Chief Executive Officer of the Loeries, Africa and Silverback Awards\u2019 technical partner.<\/p>\n<p>He challenged Uganda\u2019s creative community to continue producing work capable of competing on the continental stage, urging agencies, brands and independent creatives to raise both the ambition and quality of their ideas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-133103\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/92a8444a-79a1-40d2-8518-981af114eeb5-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"  \/>Kagingo, highlighted the vital role of creativity and strategic communications in driving business competitiveness, investment and national development.<\/p>\n<p>Unveiling this year\u2019s theme, Peter Kazibwe, Chairman of the Uganda Advertising Association, said The Bold Rise is about choosing courage over comfort.
