Ecobank Uganda honoured its outgoing Board Chairperson, Richard Munanyeza, and outgoing Board Director, Fatuma Sentongo Nagawa, during a farewell dinner in Kampala. This was in recognition of their distinguished leadership and invaluable contribution to the Bank\u2019s growth and governance.<\/p>\n
The event brought together members of the Board, senior management, employees, regulators, customers, business leaders, and strategic partners to celebrate the achievements of two leaders whose stewardship has helped shape Ecobank Uganda into one of the country\u2019s leading financial institutions.<\/p>\n
During his tenure, Richard Munanyeza provided strategic leadership that strengthened the Bank\u2019s governance, enhanced its resilience, and reinforced its long-term growth strategy. Working alongside the board and management, he helped guide Ecobank Uganda through a period of continued expansion, innovation and stronger customer engagement, while maintaining high standards of accountability and corporate governance.<\/p>\n
Board Director Fatuma Sentongo Nagawa also played a significant role in strengthening board oversight, contributing strategic insight and professional expertise that supported the Bank\u2019s continued progress and institutional stability.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the farewell dinner, Munanyeza said, \u201cServing as board chairperson of Ecobank Uganda has been a tremendous honour. Together with the Board, management, employees and our stakeholders, we have built a stronger institution founded on integrity, resilience and a shared commitment to our customers.<\/p>\n
I leave with immense pride in what we have achieved together and every confidence that the Bank will continue to grow from strength to strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests at the dinner reflected on the milestones achieved during Richard Munanyeza\u2019s tenure, including strengthening the Bank\u2019s governance framework, expanding customer-focused banking solutions, enhancing operational resilience and reinforcing Ecobank Uganda\u2019s position within the country\u2019s financial services sector.<\/p>\n
Special recognition was also accorded to Fatuma Sentongo Nagawa for her distinguished service on the Board.
