{"id":3533,"date":"2026-01-04T20:22:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T20:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/3533\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T20:22:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T20:22:07","slug":"queen-mother-cautions-girls-against-drug-abuse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/3533\/","title":{"rendered":"Queen Mother cautions girls against drug abuse\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By\u00a0Opesika\u00a0Tetteh\u00a0Puplampu\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kasseh-Ada, Jan. 04, GNA \u2013\u00a0Naana\u00a0Adiki\u00a0Manyeyo\u00a0Adi\u00a0I, President of the Ada Queen Mothers Consortium, has cautioned young girls to desist from the use and abuse of hard and illicit drugs, warning that such practices pose serious risks to their health, education, and\u00a0future prospects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Adibiawe\u00a0Clan Queen urged the girls to take their education seriously and remain focused on their long-term goals, stressing that discipline, self-control, and sound decision-making were critical to personal development and national progress.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She gave the advice when she served as guest speaker at the\u00a0Naana\u00a0Kakie\u00a0Foundation Girls\u2019 Netball Empowerment Competition and HIV\/AIDS Awareness Programme held at\u00a0Kasseh\u00a0in the Ada East District.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Naana\u00a0Adiki\u00a0Manyeyo\u00a0Adi\u00a0I expressed concern about the growing incidence of substance abuse among young girls, particularly the use of shisha, cigarettes, marijuana, and other illicit drugs, noting that such habits could derail their ambitions and expose them to long-term health complications.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She emphasised that girls were an integral part of the nation\u2019s future and encouraged them to take responsibility for shaping their lives positively from an early age.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Queen further called on traditional authorities, parents, guardians, teachers, and society at large to collaborate to protect, guide, and nurture the girl-child for the overall development of the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Naana\u00a0Adiki\u00a0Manyeyo\u00a0Adi\u00a0I, who is also the Founder of the AACOMAID Foundation, an organisation dedicated to adolescent hygiene education, donated ten boxes of sanitary pads to support the programme.
