{"id":355132,"date":"2026-07-30T09:55:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T09:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/355132\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T09:55:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T09:55:11","slug":"zimbabwe-achieves-imf-targets-sustains-strong-economic-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/355132\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe Achieves IMF Targets, Sustains Strong Economic Growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has commended Zimbabwe\u2019s economic resilience after successfully completing the first review of the country\u2019s 10-month Staff-Monitored Programme (SMP), citing strong economic growth, low inflation and sustained macroeconomic stability.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the IMF said Zimbabwe\u2019s economy expanded by 8.3 per cent in 2025 and remained robust in early 2026, supported by improved agricultural output, strong mining activity and favourable global gold prices.<\/p>\n<p>The Fund said inflation remained low, reflecting the impact of tight monetary policy and exchange rate stability, while the country\u2019s overall macroeconomic performance continued to strengthen.<\/p>\n<p>According to the IMF, Zimbabwe\u2019s economy is projected to grow by five per cent in 2026 and average 4.2 per cent over the medium term.
