The plume contained about <a href=\"https:\/\/volcano.si.edu\/showreport.cfm?wvar=GVP.WVAR20251119-221091\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">220,000 tons of sulfur dioxide<\/a> and reached as far as China.<\/p>\n<p>The Sulfur Dioxide (Middle Troposphere) layer indicates the column density of sulfur dioxide in the middle troposphere (corresponding to 7.5 km center of mass altitude) and is measured in Dobson Units (DU).
