{"id":362542,"date":"2026-08-04T07:59:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T07:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/362542\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T07:59:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T07:59:12","slug":"samia-suluhu-launches-tanzania-vision-2050-implementation-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/362542\/","title":{"rendered":"Samia Suluhu launches Tanzania Vision 2050 implementation tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63497120-291d-48b6-bb03-a0e5fa1016d9.webp\" style=\"max-width: 100%; width: 100%;\"\/>Tanzania President Samia Suluhu launches Vision 2050 \/ HANDOUT<\/p>\n<p>Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has launched the&#13;<br \/>\nimplementation, monitoring and acceleration tools for the National Development&#13;<br \/>\nVision 2050, marking the next phase of the country&#8217;s long-term development&#13;<br \/>\nagenda.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at State House in Dar es Salaam, President Samia&#13;<br \/>\nsaid the launch fulfilled a directive she issued on July 17, 2025, when she&#13;<br \/>\nunveiled the National Development Vision 2050 in Dodoma.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On July 17, 2025, here in Dodoma, when I launched the National Development Vision 2050, I directed that implementation, monitoring, and acceleration materials be prepared,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>She also held a special dialogue with private sector leaders&#13;<br \/>\nand witnessed the signing of a Joint Declaration between the government and the&#13;<br \/>\nprivate sector aimed at strengthening accountability and collaboration in&#13;<br \/>\nimplementing the Vision.<\/p>\n<p>President Samia noted that the private sector is expected to&#13;<br \/>\ndrive about 70 per cent of the Vision&#8217;s implementation, reaffirming the&#13;<br \/>\ngovernment&#8217;s commitment to creating a conducive business environment and&#13;<br \/>\naddressing existing challenges.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The government will continue to create an enabling&#13;<br \/>\nenvironment, address existing challenges, and ensure that Vision goals are&#13;<br \/>\ntranslated into tangible outcomes that touch the lives of citizens,&#8221; she&#13;<br \/>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The President directed the President&#8217;s Office responsible&#13;<br \/>\nfor Planning and Investment, together with other relevant authorities, to&#13;<br \/>\nintensify public education on the implementation of the National Development&#13;<br \/>\nVision 2050.<\/p>\n<p>She also called on Tanzanians to safeguard peace, unity and&#13;<br \/>\nstability to ensure the Vision delivers meaningful results.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I urge Tanzanians to continue maintaining peace,&#13;<br \/>\nunity, and stability so that together we ensure this Vision does not remain&#13;<br \/>\nmere aspirations or a policy document, but is implemented with great success&#13;<br \/>\nfor the benefit of our Nation,&#8221; President Samia said.<\/p>\n<p>This comes days after President William Ruto unveiled the Vision 2060&#13;<br \/>\nframework, describing it as Kenya&#8217;s next long-term development roadmap that&#13;<br \/>\nwill succeed Vision 2030 and guide the country&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-star.co.ke\/news\/2026-08-03-oburu-rutos-vision-2060-blueprint-was-railas-idea\" style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">economic<\/a>\u00a0and&#13;<br \/>\nsocial transformation over the next three decades.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The President said the blueprint seeks to build on gains&#13;<br \/>\nmade under Vision 2030 while positioning Kenya as a globally competitive,&#13;<br \/>\ninclusive and sustainable\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-star.co.ke\/news\/2026-08-03-oburu-rutos-vision-2060-blueprint-was-railas-idea\" style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">economy<\/a>\u00a0by&#13;<br \/>\n2060.<\/p>\n<p>Ruto also announced the formation of an advisory team led by&#13;<br \/>\nProfessor Hiroyuki Hino and Anyang&#8217; Nyong&#8217;o to spearhead national consultations&#13;<br \/>\non the country&#8217;s long-term development agenda.<\/p>\n<p>According to the President, the process will involve&#13;<br \/>\nexperts, policymakers, the private sector, academia and citizens in shaping a&#13;<br \/>\nshared national vision beyond the lifespan of Vision 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The unveiling of the Vision 2060 raised sharp criticism among the political divide.
