InVert Graphite (ASX:IVG)<\/a> if future studies support extraction.<\/p>\nManaging director Andrew Lawson said the maiden resource confirms Kumba as a substantial, high-grade graphite system and a strong foundation for future growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis Maiden Resource Estimate for Kumba is a standout result, delivering 32.2Mt at 8.0% TGC despite facing a short window for drilling post relisting last year, and doing so under budget, demonstrating the team\u2019s ability to deliver as promised,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDrilling is targeted to recommence in September, and our focus now shifts to upgrading the resource and collecting metallurgical testwork samples, as we continue to advance Morogoro towards development.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morogoro graphite project<\/p>\n
The ~386km2 Morogoro project in Tanzania is the company\u2019s flagship play that\u2019s prospective for high-grade graphite.<\/p>\n
Fieldwork in 2022 confirmed graphite mineralisation across seven prospects, with surface samples grading between 5.7% and 30% TGC.<\/p>\n
Follow-up orientation metallurgical testwork using standard grind, flotation and cleaning on five samples from the Kumba and Kasanga occurrences produced concentrates grading up to 98%.<\/p>\n
Earlier trenching over a roughly 2km strike returned standout intersections including 312m at 8.8% TGC and 212m at 13.5% TGC.<\/p>\n
Initial drilling carried out in 2025 returned results such as 33m at 9.99% TGC and 45m at 9.91% TGC to form the basis of this maiden resource estimate.<\/p>\n
The resource has been reported on the basis of potential open-pit mining, although mining dilution and ore loss have not yet been applied.<\/p>\n
IVG plans to restart drilling in September with a focus on upgrading the resource and collecting samples for metallurgical studies.<\/p>\n
