{"id":376002,"date":"2026-08-13T08:06:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T08:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/376002\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T08:06:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T08:06:20","slug":"guesthouse-mjolos-mystery-death-dailysun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/376002\/","title":{"rendered":"Guesthouse mjolo\u2019s mystery death \u2013 dailysun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">WHAT happened behind closed doors?<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police are hunting for two women who were reportedly the last people seen with a man who was later found dead inside a guesthouse room in Spruitview, Ekurhuleni.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The shocking incident happened on Sunday, 9 August, at about 4.30pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police spokesman Sergeant Maxwell Mabunda said a man had allegedly entered a room with the two unidentified women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">But when a friend later went to check on him, he was found unresponsive on the bed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe friend became alarmed when he couldn\u2019t wake him. The two women had reportedly already left the room unnoticed,\u201d said Mabunda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police are now trying to piece together the final moments of the man\u2019s life and establish what happened inside the room before his death.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Police officers investigate a crime scene.\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/5YMLPV6ZOBKVHPQIZEYQXB2YLM.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>A police officer cordons off the crime scene where a man was found dead at a Vosloorus guesthouse on Sunday morning, 9 August. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Mabunda said there were allegations that the man could have been drugged or given an unknown substance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">However, he stressed that this had not been confirmed and the exact cause of death was still unknown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.snl24.com\/celebs\/no-happy-endings-in-crime-20260716\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.snl24.com\/celebs\/no-happy-endings-in-crime-20260716\/\">ALSO READ: \u2018No happy endings in crime!\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe two women are sought to assist the police in establishing what happened inside that room before the man\u2019s death,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Katlehong police have opened an inquest docket as detectives continue probing circumstances surrounding the death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police are appealing to anyone who may know the identity or whereabouts of the two women, or has information that could help investigators, to come forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 10111 or 112.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WHAT happened behind closed doors?
