President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has bid farewell to Sudan\u2019s outgoing Ambassador to Uganda, Ahmed Ibrahim, following the completion of his four-year tour of duty.<\/p>\n

President Museveni received Ambassador Ibrahim at State House Entebbe on Tuesday for a farewell meeting, during which the diplomat expressed appreciation for the Ugandan Government and people for the support and hospitality extended to him and Sudanese nationals during his tenure.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim said he had come to regard Uganda as a second home, particularly praising Uganda\u2019s solidarity with Sudan following the outbreak of conflict in April 2023.<\/p>\n

He commended Uganda for hosting Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the country amid the conflict, describing the gesture as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and solidarity between the two nations.<\/p>\n

The ambassador said the support extended by Uganda during the crisis would remain deeply appreciated by the Sudanese people and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

President Museveni thanked Ibrahim for his service and contribution to strengthening relations between Uganda and Sudan.<\/p>\n

He wished the outgoing envoy success in his future assignments.<\/p>\n
