{"id":386,"date":"2026-01-03T13:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T13:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/386\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T13:34:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T13:34:07","slug":"africa-offers-long-term-opportunities-for-clean-energy-investment-report-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/386\/","title":{"rendered":"Africa offers \u2018long-term opportunities\u2019 for clean energy investment, report says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa offers \u201clong-term opportunities\u201d for investment in clean-power technologies, according to a new report, having invested $34 billion in the sector between 2020 and 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Just over 50% of this sum was allocated to solar energy and 25% to onshore wind, the African Energy Chamber noted in its latest outlook. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfrica\u2019s commitment to renewable energy sources presents <a href=\"https:\/\/energychamber.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-State-of-African-Energy-2026_Digital_rev3.pdf\" class=\"styles_linkEmbed__SNmaX\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">significant opportunities for investment and<\/a>  <a href=\"https:\/\/energychamber.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-State-of-African-Energy-2026_Digital_rev3.pdf\" class=\"styles_linkEmbed__SNmaX\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">innovation<\/a>,\u201d the authors wrote. By comparison, the European Union invested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/world-energy-investment-2025\/european-union\" class=\"styles_linkEmbed__SNmaX\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">nearly $390 billion<\/a> in clean energy in 2025 alone.
