Now backed by Ticketmaster’s global reach, Quicket is bringing a fully digital ticketing platform designed specifically for the needs of fans, organisers, artists and venues across Kenya and Uganda.

Local payment options are a major part of the expansion. Fans will be able to purchase tickets using M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money, making digital ticket buying easier and more accessible in markets where mobile payments are deeply embedded in everyday life.

The platform will also distribute events across Spotify, Google, Meta, Bandsintown and Apple Music, putting concerts and other live experiences directly in front of audiences where they already discover music and artists.

For event organisers, Quicket will provide real-time audience insights designed to help them better understand, reach and engage fans. Ticketmaster says the platform will operate according to global security standards while meeting local compliance requirements.

The company is already looking at additional ways to make ticket buying more closely connected to how people communicate and discover entertainment. Quicket is developing WhatsApp-based ticketing that would allow fans to move from event discovery to purchase within their everyday conversations, along with AI-powered tools aimed at simplifying ticket discovery and buying.

“Spend a weekend in Nairobi or Kampala and you can feel the energy immediately,” Quicket Business Operation Director John Masembe said. “Packed Afro-fusion and Afro-House nights, festival crowds singing every word back to local artists, and a new generation of creators building vibrant music and culture scenes across the region.”

Masembe said the goal of Quicket and Ticketmaster is to provide infrastructure that can support that momentum, giving organisers, venues and artists tools to grow audiences and scale live experiences throughout East Africa.

The expansion comes as the region’s live entertainment industry continues to grow alongside its young, mobile-first population. Major venues in Kenya and Uganda are also being upgraded ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, while new festivals and events continue emerging across the region.

“Africa has a huge, young and fast-growing population, which is helping make East Africa one of the most exciting live entertainment markets,” Ticketmaster South Africa Managing Director Justin Van Wyk said.

Van Wyk said Quicket’s local experience combined with Ticketmaster’s international scale will give audiences and event organisers in Kenya and Uganda access to the company’s broader ticketing technology and expertise.

And the expansion may not stop there.

“Kenya and Uganda are just the beginning as we look forward to entering more markets across the region in the future,” Van Wyk said.

For Ticketmaster and Quicket, the launch represents both a formal expansion and the next step in a relationship with East Africa that stretches back nearly a decade, as the companies position themselves for a live entertainment market increasingly driven by mobile technology, digital discovery and demand for in-person experiences.

Ticketmaster is expanding its presence in Africa, with Quicket officially launching in Kenya and Uganda as part of…

[5
63,90347,185210,185211,14381,184928,184929,1120,80,185212,9116,46403,136341,387,185213,58021,184930,153
post-387692","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-africa","tag-africa","tag-airtel-money","tag-apple-music","tag-bandsintown","tag-google","tag-john-masembe","tag-justin-van-wyk","tag-kampala","tag-kenya","tag-live-nation-entertainment","tag-m-pesa","tag-meta","tag-mtn-mobile-money","tag-nairobi","tag-quicket","tag-spotify","tag-ticketmaster","tag-uganda
["GET
