August 21, 2026\/X<\/p>\n<p>Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua on Friday visited the mother of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng\u2019eno and renewed calls for investigations into the circumstances surrounding the legislator\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Gachagua visited Mama Mary Temas at her home in Mogondo village, Emurua Dikirr, Narok County, where he said he was disheartened to find her still in distress months after her son\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>Ng\u2019eno died on February 28, 2026, in a helicopter crash in Chepkiep village, Mosop Constituency, Nandi County.<\/p>\n<p>Gachagua claimed promises made during Ng\u2019eno\u2019s funeral had not been fulfilled, without specifying the promises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy friend, the late Johanna Ng&#8217;eno, was a formidable leader who championed the principles of equity and equality in leadership,\u201d Gachagua said.<\/p>\n<p>He described Ng\u2019eno as a straightforward leader who protected his community and was committed to justice.<\/p>\n<p>Gachagua said the MP\u2019s death had left unanswered questions and called for authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis untimely passing shook the entire nation, leaving many questions unanswered to this day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call upon the authorities to immediately initiate investigations into his death, and to consider involving international agencies such as Scotland Yard or the FBI to uncover the truth behind the demise of one of the most distinguished Kipsigis leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Deputy President also laid a wreath at Ng\u2019eno\u2019s grave during the visit.<\/p>\n<p>He said the visit also offered an opportunity to reflect on the friendship between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was also a moment to reflect on the enduring friendship between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities,\u201d Gachagua said.<\/p>\n<p>He also shared some of his agricultural produce with Temas, describing the gesture as a symbol of the relationship between the two communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a son of the Mountain, I was honoured to share some of my agricultural produce with Mama Mary Temas, symbolising the continued bond and friendship that no one can break,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Gachagua further said he had instructed the immediate construction of a mausoleum at Ng\u2019eno\u2019s resting place to preserve his memory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo honour my friend&#8217;s legacy, I have instructed the immediate construction of a mausoleum at his resting place for his remembrance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ng\u2019eno was among six people killed when the helicopter crashed in Nandi County. The aircraft went down after an emergency landing amid poor weather, including mist and rain, before it attempted to take off again.
