{"id":390949,"date":"2026-08-22T22:24:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T22:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/390949\/"},"modified":"2026-08-22T22:24:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T22:24:15","slug":"pm-julius-nyerere-dam-testament-to-tanzanias-strong-will-egypts-extensive-expertise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/390949\/","title":{"rendered":"PM: Julius Nyerere Dam testament to Tanzania\u2019s strong will, Egypt\u2019s extensive expertise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Saturday, August 22, 2026,\u00a0that the Julius Nyerere Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Tanzania stood as a testament to Tanzania\u2019s strong will and Egypt\u2019s extensive technical capabilities and expertise.<\/p>\n<p>In a speech delivered during the inauguration of the Julius Nyerere Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Tanzania, Madbouly said \u201cIt is a great pleasure to be once again in your brotherly country, honored to participate, under a direct mandate from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in the inauguration ceremony of the Julius Nyerere Dam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madbouly added that this massive landmark, which has been completed and has begun operations, reinforces the shared political understanding between the two countries, enabling their peoples to achieve tremendous accomplishments on the path toward sustainable development whenever a spirit of brotherhood, understanding, and cooperation prevails.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is my honor to convey President El Sisi\u2019s sincere greetings, best wishes, and congratulations to the Tanzanian people, and to extend to the United Republic of Tanzania our heartfelt congratulations on this major achievement, along with our sincere wishes for continued prosperity and progress,\u201d Madbouly said.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed Egypt\u2019s full readiness to continue cooperation and partnership with Tanzania and with all its African brothers and sisters, with the aim of building a better present and a promising future for generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>Madbouly said that the successful implementation of this major Tanzanian project over 42 months of hard work, at a cost of about $2.9 billion and with a power generation capacity of up to 2,115 megawatts, demonstrated the capabilities and potential of Egyptian companies to implement major projects internationally, particularly in sisterly African countries.<\/p>\n<p>Madbouly added \u201cI would also like to thank the two Egyptian companies forming the Egyptian consortium, Arab Contractors and Elsewedy, for this historic achievement in constructing one of the three largest dams in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madbouly told Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and the Tanzanian prime minister that Egypt looks forward to capitalizing on the strong momentum currently generated by the successful completion of the Julius Nyerere Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant project to bring about a qualitative leap in bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly the economic sphere, including increasing trade exchange and encouraging investment between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed the importance of intensifying bilateral cooperation with the participation of the private sector in a number of promising economic sectors, building on the successful visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Dar es Salaam on June 18 this year, which featured intensive activities and meetings between business representatives from both countries to explore opportunities for cooperation in various fields, including construction, roads, maritime transport, ports, logistics zones, agriculture, land reclamation, fishing, aquaculture, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, electricity and energy, as well as other areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n<p>The premier stressed to the Tanzanian president Cairo\u2019s appreciation for the positive and balanced positions adopted by the sisterly United Republic of Tanzania on numerous regional issues of interest to both countries.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, he reiterated Egypt\u2019s aspiration to strengthen Tanzania\u2019s positive and constructive role, which is based on promoting understanding and a spirit of cooperation among the brotherly countries of the Nile Basin.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of his speech, he extended his sincere congratulations to the Tanzanian president and the brotherly Tanzanian people on this major achievement and thanked them for their warm welcome and generous hospitality.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MENA<\/p>\n<p>            <a class=\"text-reader sound\" href=\"https:\/\/sis.gov.eg\/en\/media-center\/news\/pm-julius-nyerere-dam-testament-to-tanzania-s-strong-will-egypt-s-extensive-expertise\/javascript:void(0)\" data-text=\"PM: Julius Nyerere Dam testament to Tanzania\u2019s strong will, Egypt\u2019s extensive expertise.
