{"id":391077,"date":"2026-08-23T01:05:43","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T01:05:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/391077\/"},"modified":"2026-08-23T01:05:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T01:05:43","slug":"east-african-nations-offered-30-share-of-dangotes-kenya-mega-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/africa\/391077\/","title":{"rendered":"East African Nations Offered 30% Share of Dangote\u2019s Kenya Mega-Refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"speakable\">Nigeria\u2019s Dangote Group has offered a 30% stake in a planned refinery in Kenya to East African nations, a senior economic adviser to Kenya\u2019s President William Ruto said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dangote Group, the corporation of Africa\u2019s richest man, Aliko Dangote, <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/Africas-Richest-Man-Proposes-To-Build-700000-Bpd-Oil-Refinery-In-Kenya.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">plans to build a refinery<\/a> in Kenya with a processing capacity of as much as 700,000 barrels per day of crude, which is estimated to cost about $17 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The refinery on Kenya\u2019s Lamu Island would process crude for Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, and the democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
