A vehicle was captured on fire along the Nairobi Expressway
\nnear the entry point from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).<\/p>\n

A video shared on social media shows the vehicle engulfed in
\nflames as it was moving.<\/p>\n

The social media user appealed to Sakaja, in his capacity as
\nNairobi governor, to facilitate an emergency response to the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need an emergency firefighter now at Expressway. A
\nhigh-end vehicle is on fire on the Expressway near the entry from JKIA,\u201d the
\nuser said.<\/p>\n

The user also urged motorists to keep fire extinguishers in
\ntheir vehicles as a safety precaution.<\/p>\n

\u201cMake sure you always have a fire extinguisher inside
\nyour vehicle,\u201d the user said.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire or whether
\nanyone was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n

\nSimilar accidents have happened in the past on the Nairobi Expressway.<\/p>\n

In January, traffic was briefly disrupted after a Land Rover experienced mechanical problems and caught fire near the Southern Bypass entrance B.<\/p>\n

According to Moja Expressway Company, the incident occurred at approximately 9:04 am at K13.<\/p>\n

Patrol teams, working closely with the Kenya Police Service, safely evacuated all passengers and extinguished the blaze, ensuring no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Motorists were advised to approach the area with caution while teams worked to clear debris from the roadway.<\/p>\n

\u201cMotorists are advised to drive with caution at K13 near the Southern Bypass Entrance B as our team clears debris following a successfully contained vehicle fire. Your safety is our priority,\u201d Moja Expressway said.<\/p>\n

The Expressway company urged drivers to report any mechanical issues immediately to their rescue team via 0111039888 and reiterated the service hotline 0111039777 for assistance.<\/p>\n
