Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has expressed
\nconfidence that President William Ruto will receive strong support from Western
\nKenya in the 2027 General Election.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Sunday night, Mudavadi attributed the expected backing to the
\ngovernment\u2019s development agenda and projects implemented across the region.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi said the region\u2019s voters could surprise
\npolitical observers by supporting Ruto\u2019s bid for a second term. <\/p>\n
He argued that
\nthe Kenya Kwanza administration had demonstrated its commitment to the
\ninterests of the Mulembe community through various development initiatives.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople will be surprised because Ruto has done a lot
\nfor the Mulembe community, and we will give him our vote,\u201d Mudavadi said.<\/p>\n
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also made a confident
\nprediction about Ruto\u2019s prospects in the 2027 presidential contest, suggesting
\nthat the president and his allies already command significant support across
\nthe country. <\/p>\n
He said the government\u2019s political base was strong and would
\nrequire considerable effort from opposition formations, including ODM, to mount
\na serious challenge.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi was quoted as saying, \u201cRais William Ruto
\natashinda kura za 2027 bila petition, ODM na Kenya Kwanza lazima ushawishi
\nmkubwa sana nchini tunaanza na kura million 10 tayari.\u201d<\/p>\n
The remarks were interpreted as an assertion that the
\nKenya Kwanza camp is already starting the 2027 race with a substantial number
\nof supporters, which he estimated at about 10 million votes.<\/p>\n
His comments come as political parties and leaders increasingly
\nposition themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with Western Kenya expected to
\nremain an important battleground. <\/p>\n
The region has historically played a
\nsignificant role in determining the outcome of presidential elections, making
\nits political direction a subject of intense interest among competing political
\ncamps.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi also expressed confidence in the Independent
\nElectoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), saying he expects the electoral
\nbody to conduct a free, fair and credible election in 2027. <\/p>\n
He further
\npredicted that the polls would be peaceful while urging political leaders and
\ntheir supporters to avoid actions that could undermine national stability.<\/p>\n
The Prime Cabinet Secretary additionally called for firm
\nlegal action against individuals involved in disrupting political rallies. <\/p>\n
He
\nurged institutions responsible for national cohesion and peace-building to
\nintensify their efforts to prevent political incitement and promote dialogue.<\/p>\n
With the 2027 General Election approaching, Mudavadi\u2019s remarks underline the
\ngovernment\u2019s efforts to consolidate support in Western Kenya while presenting
\ndevelopment and national unity as key pillars of its political message. <\/p>\n
Whether
\nthe region ultimately delivers the level of support he predicts, however, will
\ndepend on voter preferences, political alliances and the broader national
\ncampaign as the election draws.<\/p>\n
