The
\nAccra Institute of Technology (AIT) has held its 22nd Graduation Ceremony, with
\n572 students graduating from its doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s programmes.<\/p>\n
The
\nceremony saw 8 PhD, 69 master’s and 495 bachelor’s graduates receive their
\ndegrees. The bachelor’s graduates comprised 405 from AIT’s campus-based
\nprogrammes and 90 from its Open University programmes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
AIT\u2019s
\nPhD Alumni Surpass 100<\/p>\n
A
\nkey highlight of the ceremony was the graduation of eight new PhD scholars,
\ntaking AIT’s cumulative number of PhD graduates to over 100. The University has
\nnow graduated PhD scholars for the 14th time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
AIT President, Prof. Clement K.
\nDzidonu, described the achievement as a significant milestone for the
\nrelatively young university and noted that more than half of AIT’s PhD
\ngraduates have attained professorial rank within three years of graduating.\u00a0<\/p>\n
AIT’s
\nimpact is also increasingly evident across Ghana’s higher education sector.
\nAccording to Prof. Dzidonu, faculty members of most public and private
\nuniversities in Ghana include PhD graduates of AIT, while academic and senior
\nadministrative staff from almost all public and private universities have
\nundertaken doctoral studies at the University.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Strengthening
\nGhana\u2019s Human Capital<\/p>\n
The
\nUniversity’s postgraduate research programmes span Engineering, Information
\nTechnology, Education and Business Administration, supporting AIT’s commitment
\nto research, innovation and Ghana’s science, technology and innovation
\nagenda.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At
\nthe undergraduate level, the 22nd Graduation added 495 new bachelor’s graduates
\nto the AIT alumni community, alongside 69 master’s graduates, further
\nstrengthening the pool of skilled professionals entering Ghana’s
\nworkforce.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The
\ngraduation therefore marks more than an annual academic milestone. It reflects
\nAIT’s growing contribution to Ghana’s human capital development, postgraduate
\nresearch and the strengthening of teaching and academic leadership across the
\ncountry’s university system.<\/p>\n
AIT
\nChairman Hails University\u2019s Progress<\/p>\n
Chairman
\nof the AIT Board of Trustees, Emeritus Prof. Ivan Addae-Mensah, commended the
\nUniversity for meeting important milestones despite its relatively young age,
\nsaying AIT is \u201cfast becoming a world-class private technological university.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also congratulated the graduating class, reminding them that graduation is
\nonly the beginning, and that their ultimate success would depend on how
\neffectively they use the knowledge and opportunities gained from their
\neducation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Graduates
\nChallenged to Keep Learning<\/p>\n
Addressing
\nthe graduating class, Prof. Dzidonu urged them to embrace continuous learning
\nin a rapidly changing world shaped by Artificial Intelligence and emerging
\ntechnologies. His message was centred on the \u201cSovereign Lifelong
\nLearner\u201d, graduates who take ownership of continually developing their skills,
\nknowledge and professional capabilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He
\nchallenged the Class of 2026 to \u201cSee the Opportunity, Explore the Possibility
\nand Create the Difference\u201d, urging them to use their education not only to
\nbuild careers but also to create value and contribute meaningfully to society.<\/p>\n
AIT
\nis accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to offer both
\ncampus-based and Open University undergraduate and postgraduate programs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
AIT
\nis affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
\n(KNUST) for campus-based undergraduate programs in engineering, computer
\nscience\/IT, and business administration, and the Open University of Malaysia
\nfor Open University undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Masters and
